I've got the A11 from Thorne. I paid $130 for it and it absolutely blew me away. By far one of my favorite watches in my big collection of mostly "expensive" watches. It was my first Chinese watch purchase and I couldn't be happier. Sapphire, feel, finishing, lume, its all an A+

No comparison on the movement. Hamilton 80 hrs more accurate but I lik the seiko better.

“Before G-Shock, watches were seen as delicate instruments”…..incredibly false statement. The Swiss were making ultra durable and reliable watches before the G-Shocks and many of those watches are actually still here today and even worth 10-15x there original price. Let’s not be ignorant or misinformed then perpetuating that to viewers.

I just ordered this watch for $400, and have been doing some research on it online, and watching videos. Super excited for it to arrive. I wish it still had the engraved case back, and the work alpinist in the dial.

The real question is when in the hell these guys are finally going to come out with their short strap version they've been promising for over 4 years now... I went with Joseph Bonnie instead and haven't regretted it, much better dimensions.

I'm really impressed with these, especially the blue dial model.

Did everyone face quality issues with this watch? I had to take mine to a watchmaker for cleaning, as there was a speck of paint pealed off from the dial wondering around under the crystal. The watchmaker also told me that I should rather not swim with this watch as the water resistant is questionable. Did anyone swim with it?

It's a lovely looking thing, but good god, that brand name? It reminds me of early Christopher Wards. I'd buy one if it wasn't for that. Oboe to Orifice? Ocelot to Onanism? What went through the owners' brains? I realise settling on a brand name must be a devil, but still. Such a shame because it really looks quite special.

Bezel action isnt good

I won’t buy any rubber straps w/o the waffle pattern on the inside. Without it, rubber and silicon straps just make me sweat way too much. Thanks for showcasing Tropic I do think they make great watch straps.

Are the watch hands black or am I just blind? I often see on youtube white dials with black hands but when I go to purchase on sites its always white dials with white hands.....

Rick Marei-despite some critics-definitely knows watches, and knows what watch buyers want. And bravo to him for resurrecting Aquastar & Synchron, and doing it right. I’d buy the Aquastar simply for the La Joux-Perret G100 movement, much better than anything ETA and Sellita have to offer.

This looks like it came out of the same mold that Joseph Bonnie, Wolbrook, and a few others make their Tropic straps from, which is nice because they're excellent. Looks like Tropic offers more colors than anyone else too. Maybe I'll buy my next from them!
